Garrett had another big day yesterday...even though he may not have realized it! Yesterday marked some monumental things in his life that his mom and dad took notice of.
**Garrett turned 10 weeks old
**Garrett got to meet his Aunt Kim and Uncle Michael for the first time. They were so excited to finally get to see him. He made Kim's day by smiling at her!!
**4/3/09 makes it exactly one month til his original due date. Hopefully, if things go well and he continues to progress, we will be able to bring him home in one month!
**We got to see him smile and knew it was a genuine smile...not just gas bubbles!
**He weighed in at 4lbs!!! : ) I am not sure as to why, but it looks like all of the weight has been gained in his cheeks, his chin (which is now a double chin), and his belly!! He looks totally adorable and has "squishy-puffy cheeks" (as Uncle Clay put it).
The doctor has mentioned that Garrett was doing so well back on the CPAP, which was just set to give him extra pressure and oxygen; not set to breath for him, that he hopes to put him back on the nasal canula either today or tomorrow. Garrett has also met the weight requirements and is able to keep his temperature up, so he should be moved to a crib (a plastic box without a top) once one is available! Right now, the nurses make fun of me because I will squeeze in and lay my head down next to Garrett...it is the only way to be close to him without taking him out!! A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do!!! : )

Go Garrett Go!! What great news! You better get those clothes washed at home and his bed all ready for him!
4 lbs, that is awesome! He is really doing so good. I love hearing the good news updates. He'll be home before we know it!
That is awesome news, so glad to hear that Garrett is doing so well! :)
Garrett's original due date is my birthday! I do pray that you get to take him home that day and I praise God for all the miracles He has already performed with Garrett in his very young life. Keep pressing on.
I can't believe he's 10 weeks old! Has it really been that long? Wow, I know he's going to continue to progress and go home soon! Enjoy your sleep now!!!!
