Our angel gets his halo!

So...our little angel has some nasal issues. He has the ever present Texas spring allergies and he can't really blow his nose. Which means, they have to suction his nasal passages. While this helped him breath better, it made his nasal passages inflamed. Wednesday afternoon, he sneezed some blood. So...they put him under a halo. Yes, it is a wire box covered in plastic. The blue hose delivers oxygen and water. His RT (respiratory therapist) compared it to a spa treatment and joked that he would get a preview of what summer is like in Texas.
The water added humidity in his little cube, so it got a little hazy. However, you can see better once you wipe off the inside of the plastic. It was good because they were able to lower the percentage of oxygen, but it also meant we couldn't pick him up, hold him, or comfort him. Thank goodness it didn't last long!! He was able to go back on the canula Thursday at noon. I took advantage of the moment and held him for a couple of hours that afternoon!!

Madeline & Michael both loved the vibrating seat! It would usually calm them. You are days closer to bringing Garrett home to his new room! I pray for his continued development and for strength, patience, and peacefulness for Mommy and Daddy.
