A little more stimulation...

When we first arrived at the NICU, the goal was to care for Garrett with the least amount of stimulation possible. The nurses would do his touch time every 3 hours and complete the tasks (take temp, change diaper, and set up feeding) as quickly as possible. As he got older, we were able to hold him once a day and then twice a day. While we still have to give Garrett a couple of hours of "chill time" each day (very little noise or touching), he is now allowed some of the items you find in most childrens rooms. Here is his mobile.A little closer view of his animals. Garrett smiles everytime you start up the music!! Even though the mobile doesn't move, it gives Garrett something interesting and colorful to look at.
He also has a little chair that bounces and vibrates. He has only spent a little time in this chair, but he seemed to like it for a short time! We are excited to get another chance to try out the fun chair.
