On Monday, the study showed us that he has matured and his eating skills have improved. We no longer have to thicken the milk for him!!! This makes things easier...from making the bottle to actually feeding Garrett. We have also noticed that his lungs seem to be maturing! He does well on 1/16th of a liter of oxygen (instead of 1/8th) and often does well with the cannula outside of his nostrils. We think it is a mental security blanket...he still thinks he is getting oxygen, but the cannula is outside of his nose. We are hoping that means he won't be on oxygen much longer!!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
We went to the hospital on Monday, June 29th for Garrett's follow-up swallow study. The last swallow study we had it showed us that Garrett was aspirating when he took plain milk. To help him swallow better and keep milk from going into his lungs, we began adding rice cereal to thicken the milk.

Aunt KK (Kristen) had a couple of days off from working at summer camp and she was itching to get a chance to hold Garrett. Now all of the Aunts and Uncles have seen Garrett and most of them have gotten a chance to hold him!
