Monday afternoon update

Things here at Dallas Presby seem to be going well. The doctors had good reports on my progress and on Garrett's progress. Garrett is still working to find a good blood pressure and fighting to keep it there. His billirubin numbers were up, so he is "sunbathing" under a blue light with enormous sunglasses on. He looks adorable...and kinda fly-like. Heath is going to put pictures and a short video.

It has been good to go down to the third floor just to see him, talk to him, and sometimes even get a chance to touch him. Being so small, it is too much stimulus to do anything but just touch him. I touched his foot and he kicked me over and over. I hope that means he knows it is his mommy!! Stay tuned for a new update! THANKS for all of your thougts and prayers...they are much appreciated!

Garrett is absolutely beautiful! What a little miracle! I love the "fly" pics! Already the proud Mommy and Daddy - trying to decide what silly things the baby seems to be doing!! It never stops - we are still doing it! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and know that you are loved and supported by everyone at Kerr.

Love - Krista

Heath and Carla,

I wanted to give you a little encouragement because I KNOW where you are and KNOW how much you want to bring that precious baby home. They always tell parents to expect the baby to be in the hospital to or through their due date (as a worst case scenario I think), but from personal experience and from hearing about many other NICU babies, that is usually not the case. My babies' due date was March 14th and my girls were home by Feb. 15 and 16 and Tyler was home a week after that... So, mine were home roughly 3 and 4 weeks early. Obviously, there are times when this doesn't happen, so we can't say for sure with Garrett, but it is possible. I hope this give you encouragement! Praying for you!
