More Stable today

Just a quick update on the G-man. We got a call yesterday afternoon from the doctor who said that Garrett has had a more stable day today (Thursday) than the past 2 days. After changing to the different style ventilator, he seems to be doing much better.
The nurse from last night said that he had a pretty good night. But did have one "episode" where she had to turn up his oxygen % from 26% to 40%. But then he was fine and they continued to lower the oxygen %. Him being on 26% oxygen is good. That is an improvement from the last week. She also said that she had pulled down the amount of blood pressure medicine. He is getting approximately half the amount he was getting yesterday morning.
The report from late-morning today from Carla is that he is doing much better and they've changed his bedding and worked on his tubes and he has handled it well!
We consider this to be great news!
A neat couple of stories.....we sent some of the pictures of G-man to Walgreens so we could have hard copies too. When Carla went to pick them up, she took them out to check them. When she did this, the guy working in the photo dept said that he remembered seeing those pictures coming out of the machine. He said the little baby looks really small. He said that the baby would be in his prayers and that the photo guy had already contacted his prayer group and they would be praying for Garrett!
Also, my mom emailed me and told me that a childhood friend of mine was due in early-May and she had her baby this past week at Baylor Medical. Their baby was 1lb 7 oz. So they look to be heading down the same road (or roller coaster ride) that we are. So please remember them in your prayers too!

I am so glad that things are going better for Garrett today! I was always scared to death when we got those 3:00am phone calls. Thank goodness he overcame this in record time! Love and prayers!

Dear Carla & Heath,
I can only imagine what you are going through as you watch your precious son go through the ups and downs already encountered in his young life. My prayers are with you three as well as the medical personnel who care for him. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you do.
