Recovering well...

Sorry we haven't posted an update in a while...there really hasn't been much to update. Since the surgery, he has been recovering well. When the surgery was complete, they had him set on a high ventilator and oxygen setting because of he was re cooperating and because his little body had to get used to not having to work so hard. Over the past couple of days, they have gone down in his ventilator and oxygen settings. They have also started feeding him again. As of this morning, he is getting 3ml every 3 hours. They increase his feedings by 1ml every 12 hours as long as he is handling them well.

His primary night nurse got him a couple of blankets...so his area is quite styling!! He has won the hearts of the nurses in Nursery G. We have a couple of new pictures, but will have to post them later when we have access to our lap top (my husbands work computer). He is more alert and is moving around a little more. Although this is great news, it is quite difficult with having a ventilator tube, a feeding tube, an arterial line, and a few more wires hanging around. It doesn't seem to bother him too much until you start messing with him!! : )

Carla - do you all have a nurse named Anna Moody? I went to elementary school with her, and one of my friends told me that she's a NICU nurse at Presby.
