Things went well!!!

Garrett's surgery yesterday morning went well. The surgical team got started about 9:10 and I was in the room checking on my boy by 9:40. They put a small clip on the vessel (described like a small staple), but he doctor said his PDA was larger than they expected, so they had to use a medium size clip. That explains a lot about why he was having so much trouble regulating his oxygen saturation.

They are going to be watching his blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and breathing for the next couple of days. They have told us that it will take some time for him to get accustomed to the difference in how he feels and how he breaths, but if things go well they could start feeding again by Wednesday.

We greatly appreciate the extra prayers that were lifted concerning his surgery!! Mom really wanted the nurses to share some of the sedation drugs with me, but that didn't really work out to my advantage. It was such a blessing that everything went well yesterday and that Garrett is on the road to recovery. THANK YOU!!

You dont know me, Im just a friend of a friend who is on a prayer list, and I wanted to praise you for being so strong for your sweet baby. Remember, you are the best parents God could have chosen for this little doll, thats why he's chosen you. I am sure the Lord's hand is cradling you all. So through it all, keep in mind you are Gods chosen to give Garrett exactly what he needs. God Bless, and we'll keep the prayers coming.
