Here is a quick update! We got a call from the doctor at 3:00 am this morning that he was worried because Garrett's blood pressure and oxygen saturation were all over the place last night. So since the doctor said he was worried of course we were too. So about 3:30 we headed down to the hospital. When we got to Garrett there were 3-4 doctors, nurses, etc in his area just looking at him and his monitors. So we were scared!
But later we found out that they had just finished changing him to a different type of ventilator 5 minutes before we got there. So that is why they were watching so carefully.
Anyways, he seems to be doing much better this morning. He is back on blood pressure medicine to get his blood pressure up. But they were notching that down when we left. Also, his oxygen saturation was doing much, much better with the new type ventilator. When we got there his oxygen % was like 50-60 and when we left to get breakfast they were able to turn it down to below 30 which is really good. Also when we were leaving the nurse said they had turned the ventilator pressure down some more. So I think he is happy for right now.
I will explain the difference in the ventilators at a later time. I need to get some rest. Thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers, and cards!
