Well...today has been a tough day, but all is OK. Garrett was doing so well with his breathing and all have been really impressed by his progress. Since they began feeding him again, he has another thing to concentrate on working through. Because of this, he struggled with the breathing. So, they had to up the amount of oxygen and the pressure of the venalator. They didn't have to raise it above the amount they were giving him before...they just had to help him build up the reserve to take on more responsibility.
His billiruben numbers have changed again, so he is once again a member of the blue man group. They also did another echo-cardiogram and have started him on his second round of PDA medication. Hopefully this will close the vessel, but also help him with his ability to breath easier. This also means that they will withhold feeding again for 48 hours.
As you can see in the picture, he is sleeping on his stomach for the first time. I'm not sure why, but it really makes him look so small. But, he is a fighter!!

Carla and Heath,
We continue to pray for you and little Garrett. We're so thankful for his progress even if it seems you take one step forward and three steps back, progress is progress. We'll take even the slightest, right! Be sure to take care of yourselves, too, so you'll be strong and healthy when it's time to take Garrett home. Rest in Jesus! He's still in control. Remember, the joy of the Lord is your strength!

Heath and Carla, My prayer for you today is renewed strength and good health. I know how tired you must be! I am praying that you can rest well at night and face the day strong. Remember even when you are not there with Garrett God and his angles are right there with him. He is in the best possible place getting the best possible care. Take care of each other and lean on the Holy Spirit he is our great comforter. We love you, we pray Gods blessings, Diana L.
